Certhub: a six-person team build with a real client
A certificate management web application, built by a team of six for the Software Engineering course. We planned it in Scrum sprints and stayed in contact with the client it was for.
The problem
Most of the difficulty here was not technical. With six people and an external client, the recurring problem was keeping what we built aligned with what the client actually wanted, and splitting the work so that six people were not waiting on each other.
The client was external and the team was six, so coordination took more of my time than the code did.
The project ran across the second semester of 2025/2026, so the months are that semester rather than recorded dates.
What this demonstrates
Delivering inside someone else's processcore
Six of us ran Scrum with the client reviewing through the sprints. The work was scoped by the group rather than by me, and what we built was checked against what the client meant rather than against what we had written down.
Explaining technical material to people learning itsupporting
I explained progress and constraints to a client who was not technical. The part that actually mattered was describing a trade-off well enough that they could make the decision themselves.
Learning the domain before building for itsupporting
Angular was the team's choice rather than mine, so picking it up fast enough to carry the same load as everyone else was part of the work.
